How It Works

Dual wavelengths, one calibration

Laser hair removal works by heating the pigment in the follicle until it can't produce hair, while sparing the skin around it. The GentleMax Pro carries two wavelengths, Alexandrite for lighter skin, Nd:YAG for deeper tones, so the treatment is calibrated to you rather than forced to fit.

Hair grows in cycles, and the laser only disables follicles in their growth phase, which is why a series works where a single session can't. A series of 6–8 sessions catches the cycles in turn, with regrowth finer, lighter, and slower each time. Sessions take minutes, with built-in cooling keeping them comfortable.

Does it work on my skin tone and hair color?+
The GentleMax Pro's dual wavelengths were chosen exactly for this: safe, effective treatment across light to deep skin tones. The honest limit is hair color — very light blonde, gray, and red hair lacks the pigment the laser targets. We'll assess yours at the Brentwood office and tell you plainly.
How do I prepare, and what should I avoid?+
Shave the area the day before; skip tanning for a few weeks prior — the laser is safest on untanned skin. Between sessions, no waxing, tweezing, or epilating for at least 4 weeks (the follicle must be present to be disabled). Shaving is always fine.
Is it really permanent?+
Laser hair removal provides long-term hair reduction rather than guaranteed permanent removal — most patients need a series of 6–8 treatments, and what regrows is typically finer, lighter, and less noticeable. Hormonal areas like the chin or bikini line occasionally want a touch-up down the road. Either way, the daily-razor era ends.
