Micro-injury, macro response

The FDA-cleared SkinPen creates thousands of controlled micro-channels in the skin, harmless individually, but collectively a loud instruction to your repair system: rebuild here. Over the following weeks your skin answers with fresh collagen and elastin, right where texture, scars, and fine lines live.

Because it uses no heat and no light, microneedling is genuinely safe across all skin tones, including the deeper Fitzpatrick types where some lasers require caution. Adding PRP or exosomes during the session pushes absorption deeper and speeds the response.

Sessions run 15–30 minutes after numbing. Expect a day or two of mild pinkness, then progress that compounds across a series of three.

Microneedling or laser — which should I choose?+

Depends on your skin and your goal. Microneedling wins for all skin tones, gradual natural improvement, and scar remodeling on deeper complexions. Lasers deliver faster, more dramatic resurfacing where skin type allows. Plenty of our Los Angeles patients do both in sequence — the consultation sorts it quickly.

Does microneedling hurt?+

With proper numbing — which we always use — most patients describe vibration and pressure, not pain. You'll be pink for a day or two, similar to mild sunburn, and makeup is typically fine again within a day.

When will I see results, and how long do they last?+

Texture and glow improve within a couple of weeks of each session; the deeper collagen payoff builds over two to three months. After a series of three, results hold around six to nine months, and a maintenance session once or twice a year keeps the momentum.
